CCS Chamber Choir in Washington, D.C.

I just got back from a great trip to Washington, D.C. accompanying the Cary Christian School Chamber Choir. We played on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and before the changing of the guard ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery (it was freezing). The choir also sang a cappella outside the White House and before the Evensong service at Washington National Cathedral. We had a blast! Highlights for me were hearing the organ at the Cathedral (no electronic amplification required!) and the Lincoln Memorial. It’s so humbling to think of such a great leader; you can see the weight of responsibility for every U.S. citizen (north and south) etched on his face.

Now it’s back to teaching! We’re getting ready for our next performance class on April 19, and the Spring recital on May 1.
