Recital prep performance class, part 2
Our Spring Recital is quickly approaching and we just had our last preparatory performance class getting ready for the big event. I’m really proud of all involved. Thanks to all the parents who value music and the arts and invest so much in helping their kids learn piano. Thanks to the students, too! I feel like they’ve all internalized what I think is a very important lesson: that learning to play the right notes in a piece is only the very beginning of music making. At this performance class I heard students young and old(er) using expressive dynamics, phrasing, and motion to express something meaningful. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did.
